Born:1954, Duhok, Iraqi Kurdistan 1976 Graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad 1977-1982 BA & MA from Academy of Fine Arts, Ljubljana, Slovenia. He has exhibited internationally, in The Netherlands, the UK, Poland, Austria, Russia, UAE, Italy, Taiwan, Slovenia, Germany and Denmark. His most recent solo show was at the LeightonHouseMuseum, London (summer 2008). Selected group shows include the touring exhibition Word into Art at The British Museum (2006) and Dubai (2008). He has also exhibited his Family Ties series in his hometown of Duhok in 2004, and is participating in " Occupied Space 08, Art for Palestine", Qattan Foundation, London and " Iraq's Past Speaks to the Present" at the British Museum, London [2008-2009]. His work is to be found in several prestigious public collections such as The British Museum, The Imperial War Museum, Victoria & AlbertMuseum, London; The National Gallery of Amman, Jordan; The World Bank, WashingtonDC, and The Iraq Memory Foundation, USA.
